15 Sep 1972 – Merlion statue was unveiled by the late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew

The Merlion is the national personification of Singapore. Its fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, The lion head represents her original name, Singapura or Lion City.

QUEEN TEMASEK exudes power and royalty with its scale motif, sea-blue ombré liken to a mermaid’s tail. The Merlion head at the pallu, is made up of intricate crystals and precious corals, rising from the sea. Just as Singapore rose from the sea trade to become a progressive and prosperous society.

Designer's Tip: Drape it over a turtle-neck/high-collar blouse to achieve a more sophisticated look.
